What is Satlynx ? It is the proprietary service driven by Gilat, who is one of the Market Leaders in satellite modems. Gilat is partly owned by Astra Satellites in Luxemburg. This standard is also supported by Intelsat, the worlds largest Satellite operator and is available on several satellites. Interchange between provider or satellite is not possible, as the system uses unique keys. We offer this service for stationary or mobile use on Eurobird 1 satellite.

What is DIRECWAY ? It is one of the most proven 2-way satellite system in the market. The service is proprietary and available on several satellites all over the world. Interchange between providers or satellites is not possible, as the system uses unique software keys. We offer this service for stationary or mobile use on Eutelsat W1 and Panamsat PAS10.

What is DVB-RCS ? It is the new upcoming standard in 2-way satellite. Once you follow this standard, you may use your equipment on several satellites. Only LNB or BUC might need to be changed, what is affordable. DVB-RCS is supported by several satellite organisations like Eutelsat and several small satellite Hub operators. We offer this service for stationary use only on Hellassat 2, Eutelsat W1, W5 and Panamsat PAS1R.

How to Proceed: Before proceeding to the next step, please keep in mind which terminal (TT-4020, TT-4220 ect. ) works on the satellite you have chosen. Every satellite needs special equipment like LNB, modems, frequency splitters, so it is mandatory to select the right equipment to work on the satellite you have chosen. In order to make sure that your chosen Terminal will work at your location, one of our satellite engineers will verify your location and calculate the Satellite link budget.

Type of the Services and Satellites:

First you need to choose the airtime, according your bandwidth needs. We offer capacity of two big players in the 2-way satellite market which offer a good bargain for both private, corporate and mobile users. The Airtimes are bound to the Satellite Terminals and to the satellite we offer. Your choice if internet service will automatically invoke the hardware you will need.
Please keep in mind that all speed values we publish are stated in kilobit per seconds. (kBit/sec.) The Volume Limits attached to the internet rate only apply if you choose to pay by Volume Billing Policy. Since first of December 2003, we also offer a Fair Access policy on all our satellites, except PAS10 which is unfortunately available only with volume policy . Please choose the appropriate number of computers for, in order to prevent that you get slower speed than published. All named prices are reoccurring monthly fees, and exclude the one time activation fee.

1. Hughes DIRECWAY Internet Service

Hughes Networks was the first to enter the European market and offers easy to install systems at reasonable prices. Hughes Equipment is available on Eutelsat W1 and

3. DVB-RCS

If no standard or out of the box solution matches your needs, probably you should look into our DVB-RCS Standard 2-way internet services. These are highly upgradeable and flexible in terms of speed and availability. This standard is offered by several satellite operators in the market and originally is means for the customers the possibility to cross grade to another satellite.
DVB-RCS Standard services are capable of VOIP if you choose for our Voice over IP Gateways, as the delay time is acceptable. Corporate VPN Projects are possible as well with this new standard. Beyond VPN client access which mostly works with all services we do offer, VPN tunnelling solutions with CISCO or Firewall One VPN concentrators do work with this services. Please consult our sales staff if you need to plan a corporate VPN project.
Especially for corporate users, these services do offer flexible bandwidth at affordable costs.

Please keep in mind that all speed values we publish are stated in kilobit per seconds. (kBit/sec.) The Volume Limits attached to the internet rate only apply if you choose to pay by Volume Billing Policy. Since first of December 2003, we also offer a Fair Access policy on all our satellites, except on PAS10.

* Legal note: The use of internet satellite services may be illegal in some areas covered by our satellites. Legal background might be an Embargo of the United Nations or a local regulation. In some countries like Libia, Iran, Syria or some African countries the use may not be allowed.

** Legal note: You need to notice us if you resell the system to
anybody else. You will be responsible for the content from a legal point of view, which will be transferred over the satellite link. Some telecommunication regulation authorities in your country might request you to get a local license for operating the terminal. In most European countries no local licenses are needed any more.

One time Activation fee/ Reconnect fee:

All our satellites require a connection fees which covers the commissioning procedure, which is necessary for getting online. This one time fee is depending on the satellite, as there are different procedures to follow.

If customers account is over due and we need to switch off the link according to lack of payment, we will charge another activation fee as reconnect fee. Reconnect fees are due in advance, as systems are not activated until this reconnect fee is received on our bank account. Technically reactivating of a system takes 72 hours minimum and can be executed only during normal working hours.

One time activation fee
Satellite: One time fee:
W1 (TT-4020) 180
W1 (TT-3120) 249
W5 350
Eurobird 1 180
Hellassat 2 249
PAS1R 318
PAS10 298

Data Volume Limit and FAP (Fair Access Policy):

The Volume Limits attached to the internet rate only apply if you choose to pay by Volume Billing Policy. Since first of December 2003, we also offer a Fair Access policy on all our satellites, except on PAS10.

Data Volume Billing Policy (Volume):

In case the customer consumes more data as stated above, there will be an additional fee for every consumed Gigabyte data volume. Please find the pricing in the table on the right side.
Data volume consumed between Off Time (8 pm until 8 am) does not count for traffic limit. If customer constant exceeds his data limit he has the opportunity to change to another internet rate without paying the one time reconnect fee. Home user internet rates cannot upgraded free of charge.

This Billing policy is available for all satellites. Alternatively to this Data Volume limit billing policy, the customer may choose the Fair Access Policy.

Fair Access Volume Billing Policy (FAP):

Your satellite Internet system is capable of delivering the internet to you at very high speeds. Web pages pop up fast, pictures load quickly, & files can be downloaded at very high speed. However, we do not want it's customers to utilize that high speed capability to any great extent. To stop users from using up too much bandwidth & resources on our system, we have implemented alternatively to the volume model the "Fair Access Policy".
What the FAP does is limit the amount of data our customers can download in a given time span. When that limit has been reached, we throttles back the speed on customers high-speed satellite connection. When under FAP restrictions your speed will be slower than normal, but not slower than a 56k modem. Your online speed will remain slow until the FAP restriction is lifted. So we temporarily limit the throughput of the customer.

Whereas the Data Volume Billing policy gives you maximum available speed during all the time, our Fair Access Policy gives you 100% cost control. Please decide on your own how you want to control your costs. FAP is unfortunately not available on PAS10 satellite.

  Minimum Contractual Period:

All contracts do have 12 or 24 month of minimum contractual period. During this period customers cannot migrate their system to another provider, as the satellite equipment is locked with a key for usage on a different satellite or provider. Of course you may cross grade to another satellite which is supported by our equipment and is offered by Level421, if you choose a DVB-RCS standard service.

Unfortunately we cannot bring you online if your equipment is locked by a different service provider or your accounts are overdue with another satellite operator or provider.

Minimum Contract Period
Satellite: Duration of Contract:
W1 (DIRECWAY) 12 months
W1 (DVB-RCS) 24 months
W5 24 months
Eurobird 1 24 months
Hellassat 2 24 months
PAS1R 24 months
PAS10 24 months

  Private and Public IP Adresses:

All office rates come with a set of private TCP/IP addresses which are dedicated to your terminal. We recommend to use a Network Address Translation device like our UD Gateway, if you need to connect more than 5 computers to the internet gateway. Up to 6 Public IP addresses which can be reached from the internet are available for all satellites on request. If you need more than 1 public IP address, we will need as well a plan of your network for registration purpose.

Public IPs are available for 160 € one time and 4,95 € monthly each. Public IPs are necessary, if you want to run a email server, a VOIP gateway or a VPN behind the satellite link. Web Servers are nor recommended to run behind satellite links.

Important note: PAS1R already has assigned 4 public access able IPs. Fees are already included in the monthly service fee of PAS1R. So you do not need to order IPs for PAS 1 R service.

  Review Quality of Service:

Internet speeds are always published as burst rates and state always the maximum value of possible data transfer over the link. Burst rates always assume optimal network environments, which rarely occur.

Many companies are using these burst rates in their advertisement campaigns. Whereas other companies only publish these burst rates we also publish performance values which describe the internet rate better than burst rates. As data rates vary, we always publish minimum and maximum transfer volumes. Please compare fair if you compare us with the competition.

* All Values are measured in kbps
** All parameters are measured in Level421 Laboratory and might slightly differ from real performance
*** Minimum and Maximum Rates on up-streams and down-streams show the speed the user can expect during day or nighttime. Average Performance indicators show the range in which the user can expect the performance to be during the whole day in one continuous stream.
****Only data consumed during daytime (Peak time) contributes to the Data Volume Limit.
