DW4020 and DW6000 are both multi-user Macintosh satellite Internet systems designed for business customers.

The DW6000 is the lates satellite Internet modem. The DW6000 has one ethernet port on the back of the modem just like a cable modem. Residential service comes with a dynamic IP address and the modem is setup to perform DHCP. With the modem performing DHCP a hub or swith is needed to network more than one computer to the satellite connection. All services other than the residential service come with one static public IP address. With the static publc IP address a router is needed to perform DHCP for the end users network. DW6000 does not use or require a PC to run software. The DW6000 runs all the software and can be satellite commissioned.

The 4020 provides 4 switched 10/100 ethernet ports with various configuration options. Option 1 includes NAT/DHCP with private-dynamic IP addressing. Option 2 provides a single (or multiple) public-static IP address(s). Option 2 requires a router or other NAT solution if the connection is to be shared. Skycasters offers many options on the DW4020.

The DW4020 does not use or require a Windows operating system. The DW4020 runs all software and provides a standard ethernet interface, providing the user(s) with an exceptional Mac satellite Internet connection. There is no requirement for any special software to be loaded on any users machines.
